Jan Loomis

Jan Loomis is an award-winning abstract artist working in watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil and mixed media. Born into a Sicilian fishing family from Monterey, California, her work is inspired by the misty fog of the coast, the beauty of Big Sur’s Redwood forest and of ancient cultures. Her goal is to create pieces of art that elicit feelings of curiosity and enchantment.

Jan’s work is not limited to two-dimensional art. Her love of textures has led her to create hand dyed, hand sewn fiber books, as well as found object assemblages.
