I was born and raised in Livermore and I am a self-taught artist. I learned to draw at a young age and now that I am retired it seems I have finally found my artistic voice. My adventures and travels have taken me to very interesting, beautiful and exotic places, and most of my paintings are inspired by moments seen through my camera lens, thanks to my father. I am forever grateful to him for inspiring me to travel and photograph nature in all it's beauty.
My art journey began with simple pencil sketches that evolved into large seascapes that I painted for myself. Then photographic images became future paintings as I continued to build my tool box of skills, experimenting with different mediums and styles. When I begin a painting regardless of the subject, there is a feeling of joy inside me that crescendos until it is finished. When I paint there is always music playing in the background to set the mood and I prefer early morning is my favorite time of day. Currently my mediums of choice are acrylics, mixed media and pastels.
After 30 years of living in Southern California I’m delighted and inspired by the beautiful scenery that surrounds my new home. There is an abundance of peaceful moments in this valley to be captured on canvas. It is also a dream come true to learn from so many creative and talented artists at this time in my life.
