I never would have imagined that a part-time job in high school and college

working in paint stores would lead to a whole new chapter in my life. But

that is exactly how events played out when I returned to the visual arts after

45-year absence.

I learned from those early days how important it is for people to find just the

right colors for their space, how pleasing, relaxing and fulfilling that can be.

For me as a contemporary painter, it has come full circle. Literally from the

moment I got back into painting several years ago, I put creating unique

and pleasing colors front and center in my art practice.

And that has really paid off for the one consistent comment I have received

from fans and collectors all over the country is how much they love my

color story. This also serves as a unifying theme because even as I explore

sociological, allegorical or metaphysical topics, my art is instantly

recognizable, giving my oeuvre a unifying theme.

Another consistent aspect in my work is my use of poetry to enhance the

viewer’s discovery experience. A former songwriter and touring musician, I

often quote song lyrics with uplifting or ironic messages on my paintings to

get to a deeper level in my novel artistic expression.
